Absolutely sensational! There's such a fun variety of baked goods and grocery items filling the shelves. The croissants are some of the best I've had - can't wait to try the croissant loaf!! The shop is cozy and quaint; the staff is super friendly too! Can't wait to be back for more lil treats!

Omg so yum! Got a croissant. Friend got a pickle pastry. We got squash soup. Delicious! Parking is a little wonky - you back into spots, not pull in forward. Little hard to find - no obvious signage. Drove by the next morning after getting our yummies - a line 10+ people deep waiting to get in! Will absolutely go back when in the area

100% worth the wait, even in the cold. This quaint bakery makes quite literally the BEST pastries... and don't even get me started on the refrigerated cake we will be back!

Lovely spot off the main road. Pistachio croissant and tahini chocolate chip cookies are divine! Friendly staff. Parking is limited and had to drive around to find the place but it's worth it.

The hype is very real and yes, pls come early bc it's 2025 and Forest is still drawing long AM lines. Get the cinnamon roll if they got it. And whatever gallete-of-the-week they r slinging. They're always amazing. Now I gotta go set my alarm, leave me alone.

It's quaint but delish treats! I didn't anything too crazy and went closer to when they first opened, over the summer. At the time, they only served drip coffee. I'd definitely try it again and love following them on social media. Also everyone was friendly and definitely knowledgeable about the deliciousness happening in the case.

Forest Bakery Oak Park!!!!! Praise GOD! Have you been??? Have you been to the quaintest, most precious, culinary delightful bakery in...the entire world? (Ok, maybe not the entire world, but I can say, from my world perspective, this is true). Ok, I am so excited to share my Experience.. I tried to go to one of the bakeries in Oak Park, that I have not gone to in years, but when I got there, it was closed (when it is supposed to be open on Saturday). Not giving up, I still wanted a sweet treat to drink with coffee. "Where can I go?" PAPA (GOD) popped into my mind, the new bakery I had heard about and then saw a couple of weeks ago, a line out the door, the day before Thanksgiving. (HE brought the memory to the forefront of my mind after I asked.) "Ahh, Yes! I wanted to try them out." It is so tiny, literally, I think the width of the store front might be 15ft wide. When you approach, the air is scented with sugary butter, notes of fresh cofffee, cinnamon, and spices I can't describe. Before I walked in, I knew by the aroma, that whatever is inside, will be delicious. The storefront is adorable, adorned with local artisan products, bakery logo apparel, quality coffee, and local farm products (like cheese, eggs, and spinach) you can purchase. I walk in, about an hour and a half after opening, and over 70% of the bakery case has already been cleared out. I expressed to one of the owners, that I have never been there and asked what to try. (I knew she was an owner because of the confidence and love for what she is doing in her eyes). She was kind, and humbly smiled, shrugged her shoulders while examining the case, she was unable to give a recommendation. I immediately understood the non-verbal communication, she was being truthful and couldn't make a recommendation because she knows, everything here, is a good choice. I chose an apple butter almond vanilla custard danish and a slice of poppy lemon bread. Was blessed with slice of pumpkin loaf. She nodded her head with approval. (kinda like, yeah, that's gonna be delicious-you will be back). Sidenote: I am not enough into the bakery scene quite yet for me to haphazardly spend $7.50 each for my entire family. I pondered the danish price and the aestecic told me it was not a decision I needed to ponder too long for just myself. But to purchase more, before trying or receiving a strong personal reference, is too risky of investment for all of us. (This is why I am telling you in advance, forshawdowing-so you go in with knowing it will be delicious-buy wisely). My plan: I would try something today and another day, when the family is all together, I could bring them back if, the Forest Bakery had my stamp of approval. Also my plan: With the best of intentions of just tasting it, and saving the rest of it, to when I get home, I began to drive. I had the pre-meditative thought of sitting down with the relaxing cup of drip coffee I purchased, and I took a bite. "Wow! This is exquisite!" (I don't know what I was expecting, something tasty or good would have been sufficient). But the crispiness, the delicate layers of buttery goodness, the clear distinct vanilla flavors burst through-Oh I don't even know if I will make it door to door to my house, which is only 5 minutes away. I had clearly mistook this bakery as a local neighborhood bakery, instead of a portal to premiere bakery in France. While trying to savor the flavors, the fruit explosions of the apple butter, I devoured the entire good within minutes from the bakery to my home. I immediately realized I had made a mistake. Turn around! Get the entire family a danish, this experience is too good for only myself. How could I go back home raving and not have a morsel to share? I quickly drove back. I, and the two customers who walked in before me, were too late for the heavenly sent apple butter custard danishes. Within minutes, they had sold out. Hats off to you. So proud of you all for making your dream come true. We all get it. We will be here early. We can't all go to France, but you should go, get to Forrest Bakery, and try one of their phenomenal baked goods. Then you too, can have an experience like I have now just had. Go check them out on Instagram. My family and I will go over Christmas Break, when I am available when the bakery first opens. I will bare the cold. Well done, Humna, Jo, Kyle, and crew. Thanks to you, we get to experience culinary excellence from flavors around the world, on our side of the world. Let me know what you try when you go. GOD Bless You and Enjoy!

I finally had a chance to revisit and this time I was able to get in before the croissants ran out. Forest Bakery, which now boasts a painted sign on the wall outside, still sells outs pretty quickly - we went just an hour after opening and they were already out of almond croissants (our top choice) and croissant loaves. That just gives us an excuse to go again in the near future! Pistachio Croissant ($7.50) - This croissant is double baked - baked once as a normal croissant, then cut in half, a rich pistachio paste added in the center, pistachio frangipane slathered on top, and finally baked again. The double baking allows an extra crisp layer to develop on the exterior and the interior to firm up more over a standard croissant. The bake time on this croissant is perfect for a double bake - I've had ones before that are so dried out on the interior they are unpleasant to eat, and others that have been doused in syrup to try to revive the croissant, but then making it way too sweet. This one, on the other hand, is right on the dot, adding a firmness and crisp without having the interior becoming totally dried out. Unlike a certain other croissant place in Metro Detroit with multiple locations, the lamination here is perfection, with the honeycomb structure that is a delight to behold. The croissant tastes fantastic too - very strong pistachio flavor with a sweetness that does not overpower. This is one of the best double baked croissants I have eaten and is the clear winner when compared to all other similar croissants around Metro Detroit. (5/5) I was already impressed with Forest Bakery and this visit only served to confirm and improve my thoughts. Admittedly, the cost of the pastries at Forest Bakery is quite high, but the quality and small-batch nature of the baked goods here justifies the pricing. I highly recommend a stop. Just be sure to get there early to have the best selection.

We got: cinnamon roll 5/5 Spinach ricotta tart w/lemon crumbles 5/5 Ramp butter : 5/5 So intense and I'm going to use it on a steak instead of bread.

This bakery is simply the best! I've not had a bad thing from them yet, and my whole family is in love with the carrot cake! I also really appreciate that they have vegan and gluten free options available, so it's not too hard to meet up with anyone there, regardless of their dietary restrictions. The decor is adorable and the staff/owners are absolutely delightful women. If you haven't been yet, don't sleep on this one!
